The accompanying letter is below.
You probably don't remember me out of the thousands of
students you had, but I certainly remember you. I ran across the Ward
Website and had to email a hello. You stand out as one of the best
teachers that I ever had.
I practiced law for 16 years before deciding to get an honorable job
and I became a teacher. I teach 5th grade in a private Jewish day school in
Baltimore. We learn about the Periodic Table and I always think of you
at that time of the year.
I'm attaching an award that you gave me for being a "Keeper of the Duck".
Obviously, I have treasured it and have it framed next to my diplomas!
Thanks for everything,
John "John the Baptist" Stevens
Class of 1975
Ward replied that he does indeed remember you very well John! His reply
upon learning of your teaching job, "Poor Devil".
